Welcome to my blog! My name is Mary Ellen Pierce and I want to invite you to Get Jazzed & Joyful about who you are, every day in every way! I believe that no matter what you do in life, it is important to believe in yourself and your goals and to realize it's okay to enjoy the journey and have fun along the way!
Along my journey I have discovered my inner artist to help me create expressions of myself using collage, altered art, mixed media and scrapbook techniques. I have enlisted the aid of my inner cheerleader to keep me motivated to be the Best ME that I can be!
And I want to inspire others to realize that when you get Jazzed and Joyful about being You, then what you do will turn into success, prosperity and happiness!

Take charge of YOU!

Get Jazzed & Joyful Thought:

Today is an excellent day to look at your progress on your goals and resolutions for this New Year.... Now pause for a moment, did your inner critic just get activated? Reminding you of how little progress you have actually made? Perfect! Because right now in this moment is the perfect time to tell your inner critic to sit down, be quiet and take notice that there is a brand new sheriff, YOU, in town!

Right now instead of letting your inner critic run rampant over your thoughts and feelings take a few moments to ponder this:
In reality there is no right or wrong - there is only what is working for you and not working for you - and making adjustments accordingly.

So today, remind yourself in thought, verbally and put it on paper the things that are working for you, all the ways in which you are moving forward to a better you. Now jot down only ONE thing that is NOT working for you - yes I said only ONE. Ask yourself what adjustments can I make on this one thing to either make it work for my highest good OR to let it go? It might be an attitude adjustment, time management adjustment, it might be an awareness of inner resistance, might be making your workspace more cheerful or uncluttered, might be taking a quick break to de-stress, going out into nature to clear the cobwebs from your mind, might be limiting your time in a negative environment or with an emotionally draining person. Put your solution skills to the test and find a way to make an adjustment that works FOR you.
Then remind yourself of your commitment to yourself and all the things that are working - because You are working them.
Now tell your inner critic "You're fired!"
Repeat this process as often as necessary and whittle your not working list down to almost nothing.

Affirm:
I am the C.E.O. of Me and I take charge of my life, my goals and my Mind!

Have a take charge of You Thursday!

Counting your Blessings

Get Jazzed & Joyful Thought:

There are many holidays celebrated in December around the world and right here in this country; St. Nicholas Day, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Fiesta of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Boxing Day are just a few.

So the holiday season is in full swing. Our to do lists are full of things like gift shopping, going to the grocery store, making travel arrangements, decorating homes and businesses, baking and cooking, scheduling holiday and office parties to celebrate.
How much time will be spent on Thankfulness, Gratitude and Counting Blessings? When was the last time that you told a friend, co-worker or family member that you are Thankful for them? When was the last time you actually wrote down a Gratitude list for this time of the year? When was the last time that you asked others to share one of their Blessings with everyone?

What would your Holiday season be like if the Focus was on Gratitude, Thankfulness and Blessings instead of worrying If there is enough time to get everything done? Or if you have enough room for the family and friends at the holiday feast?
What if you just relaxed, slowed down a little and enjoyed the Holiday season for what it is supposed to be about- thankfulness and sharing bounty with all. What if you counted everyone that crosses your path today, tomorrow and all of December as a Blessing sent to you this Holiday season as an opportunity for you to say "Thank You" and share your Blessings with them all?

What would that Holiday season be like? Find out for Yourself!

Affirm:
This Holiday season I let go of stress, worry and perfectionism and I keep my focus on being Thankful, Grateful and Counting all my Blessings.

Have a truly Thankful Holiday season!
And Thank You to each of you for being a Blessing in my Life!

Letting go of Perfectionism

Get Jazzed & Joyful Thought :

Perfectionism is about a feeling of not being good enough, right enough, smart enough; a feeling of having to compensate for lack. Doing the comparison game with others to see if you did more or less than they did.
Gratitude allows for the gift of Acceptance. Accepting that you ARE good enough, smart enough, doing enough. Gratitude keeps your focus on Appreciation for who You are and the things You have accomplished, the good coming into your life.
Gratitude keeps your heart open. When your heart is open you see yourself and everyone else through a softer, lighter lens. When you maintain Gratitude AND an Open Heart then Life becomes 'very good', not perfect but Good Enough.

Affirm:
Today I Am Grateful to be Me and I AM good enough and I AM okay with Me!

Have a Very Good Friday!
