Designed and Decorated with love

My grandaughter Hailey and I had fun creating, painting and decorating 2 collage frames- one for her mom and one for her great grandfather for the holidays. I love Tulip brand Beads in a Bottle. They come in different colors and work well on picture frames, glass, paper crafts-pretty much any surface including fabric! They are easy to use and they give a 3D effect and harden like a brad or a bead. We got more creative with our frame design as we went along and I even tried it directly on the glass frame on the top left pic. The words For You Mom are in black beads in a bottle. When my grandsons saw these they asked how come they couldn't do one! So for Valentine's day they will be doing small picture frames for their mom- Can't wait to create with them!

Positive Power Beads

Here are several new Positive Power beads that I made a few days ago. I am getting ready for a holiday show and am busy creating away! These beads are wonderful because you can use them as a bookmark in a book-I made large ones and smaller ones for different size books. Also I made one and hung it from my car mirror so I see it every time I drive and it reminds me of my positive focus. I also hung one from desk hutch off a small nail so I can see its' positive message while I work on my computer.

And then I found these wonderful spin racks so I can easily display all of the Power Beads! Looking forward to making more of these!

New Flower Power Trinket Boxes

Finished some more flower power trinket boxes last night. I really love the striped ones! It was something that happened to cover up an accident. I painted the wrong color and thought how can I cover it up and still have it look ok? And then I tried the stripes on the pink and black box and I liked it so much that I repeated the stripe idea on the green box.
Today I will put a sealant coat on the tops to preserve the paint.
These are going to look awesome at my Studio Garden Party on sunday!

New Garden Rocks

I just finished these this week. I painted 3 new Garden Rocks and 2 what I am calling Flower Power Trinket boxes. I love how these are turning out. I used outdoor/patio paints for the rocks. First I put a base coat of white outdoor paint on them and then used colored patio paints to design them. this way they will hold up through the winter. I also finished 2 wood trinket boxes. I primered those in white acrylic paint and then put the main acrylic color on and then put my signature flower power design on the top of the box. The boxes have hinges so that the top opens like a lid and you can put whatever treasures you want inside.

I am going to be displaying these at my Studio Garden Party that I am having on Sunday. It is going to be wonderful and I will post pictures later.

Garden Rock Art

Well I finished the Turtle garden rock! And the words Steady Progress are so appropo for me. Each day I just keep plugging away a little at a time and the great results are showing up. Now the next step is to place them out in my yard which I will do tomorrow and I will take pics to show you.
The next phase is to paint a smaller Garden Rock that I will be giving away at my Studio Garden Party. Some lucky person will be placing a whimsical garden rock in their yard or on their porch!
Like the turtle, steady progress wins the race!

New Garden Rocks

Loving these new Garden Rocks I did! These are actual landscape rocks, @ 6-8 inches and @ 3-5lbs each. My hubby painted primer on them and then I painted a base color coat with outdoor paints .I used construction pencils to draw lightly the design and then I used again outdoor/patio paints and paint pens to color in the design and words.
My 9 yr old grandson Josh actually penciled the base cardinal and branch design on and then I fine tuned and added color, the word and added additional designs of flowers and leaves.
The Diva Power rock was with my 3 yr old granddaughter, Isabell in mind, she loves all things pink and she IS a DIVA!
These will be placed out in the yard along the river rock stream and by the pond. And since they are primered and done in outdoor paints they should withstand the seasons.

A Picket a day.

Well the studio changes are coming along. My hubby cut my picket fence in half, which I painted white and then he built a center piece that we stained and put my frog fountain on it. Then my grandson Brandon came over and painted a picket with his own design! His is the red, white and blue Love and I think it turned out amazing!  Mine are the flowers on the end and won't be complete for a couple days when it is cooler! Yesterday it was 95 and today it is going to be close to 100!
Thank goodness for air conditioning!
