Get Jazzed & Joyful Thought 5/4/11
You know the saying "Practice makes perfect"? It refers to the idea that the more we practice something the better we get at it. Have you stopped to think about what exactly you are practicing on a regular basis? The things that you think about yourself or tell yourself regularly are ways that you are practicing getting really good at believing those same thoughts. For example:
If you think "Oh I am such a klutz" don't you find that you bump into things or drop things more often?
If you think "I always get into the slowest line" don't you find that you manage to do just that?
If you think "I can never seem to remember where I put my keys or my glasses" don't you notice how much time you spend looking for them?
If you think "I always get sick at this time of year" don't you notice that happens?
If you think "Man, Life is so hard and difficult" don't you notice how true that is?
You see your body and your actions will always follow your beliefs. And a belief is something that you keep practicing on a regular basis.
If you think "I always find a great parking spot" don't you notice that spot opens up or is waiting for you?
If you think "I always find a great sale or bargain wherever I go" don't you notice how that keeps happening?
If you think "I'm really lucky and lucky things happen to me" don't you notice how other people will make a comment like "Boy are you lucky!" or "It sure was lucky that happened the way it did"
If you think "I hardly ever get sick" don't you notice how true that is?
You see your body and your actions will always follow your beliefs. And a belief is something that you keep practicing on a regular basis.
Today examine some of your beliefs and what you say to yourself and others about them. Pay attention to how your actions and your circumstances will validate your repetitive thoughts.
The only difference between a negative belief and a positive one is the results that you get.
Which one would you prefer?
Affirm:
I practice Positive Thoughts so they become Powerful, Positive Beliefs!
Have a Positive Practice Wednesday!

Discover something New!
Get Jazzed & Joyful Thought:
Today is a great day to learn something New. Something about someone else that you didn't already know. Most times we are so busy focusing on our schedules, jobs, to do lists, etc. that we prevent ourselves from discovering new information about the people in our lives, including children. When this happens we stay on a superficial level and miss out on connecting on a more real and true level. Make a point today to ask discovery questions. It could be something as simple as what kind of car a co-worker drives, what's a favorite quote, movie, color, book or food they enjoy. What music do they listen to? Hobbies? Do you know the names of family members, pets? You may discover that you have more in common than you realized. You probably will discover some fun and wonderful facts that will surprise you.
So make today a discovery day.
Affirm:
Today I take the time to learn something new about someone in my world.
Have a Discovery Monday!

What is Non- Negotiable for you?
Get Jazzed & Joyful Thought:
Do you know what your non-negotiables in life are? If you do, do you hold strong to them or do you compromise them away?
Take a little time and ask yourself "What things in my life, what values of mine are deal breakers, are non-negotiable?" Then ask yourself "If I feel this strongly about something do I follow through and hold fast to my beliefs or do I make excuses and say "Well next time I'll say something" or "This really isn't a good time to take a stand"?
It takes courage and strength to stand up for your personal beliefs and values. It is not always comfortable however it is well worth the effort.
When you give away your power, when you compromise your values, when you negotiate on one of your non-negotiables, your body, mind and spirit lets you know right away. Your mind tells you "Why didn't you say something/do something?" The inner critic kicks in and starts the negative self talk. You feel irritable and moody.
Your body reacts with a headache, stomach ache, clenching of your jaw line. A tightness in your chest, a feeling of anger and or resentment, anxiety and Your breathing becomes shallow, not full and complete.
Your spirit calls to you. You feel out of balance, not connected or grounded. Your energy and motivation stall out.
When you stand strong in your integrity and your beliefs your mind tells you "Good for you! Way to Go!" Your body feels calm, strong, a little exhilarated for standing in your truth. You feel self assured and confident.
Your spirit soars. You feel lifted to a higher place. You are motivated and have the energy to go onto to the next set of tasks for the day.
Which results would you like? Today before you consider negotiating anything important to you, check in with your body, mind and spirit and let it guide you.
Affirm:
Today I keep my Integrity intact by walking my talk and matching up my words, my actions and my beliefs.
Have a Stand in Your Truth Monday!
